Write a Letter Official Rules

Eligibility: The Stop Spending Our Future Write a Letter Contest (“Contest”) is open to all legal U.S. residents physically residing in the United States. Contestants must be at least the age of majority in their state of residence as of the date of Submission. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

Contest Submission Period: All entries must be submitted by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  The Contest Submission Period ends on April 30, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Rules for Submission: By participating in this Contest, Contestants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Judges and/or Sponsors. Decisions of the Judges and/or Sponsors are binding and final in every respect.

Each Contestant may enter only one Submission. If a Contestant enters multiple submissions, they will all be disqualified from consideration.

All entries received by the end of the Contest Submission Period that are complete and otherwise qualified will be eligible to win one of the five prizes of $250. In no event will Sponsors be liable for more than five prizes each in the amount of $250. All Submissions become the sole property of Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsors are not responsible for any problems, bugs, or malfunctions Contestants may encounter when attempting to enter their Submissions.

Contestant must hold all rights to the entire Submission. If, in the sole discretion of Sponsors, a Submission constitutes copyright infringement, the Submission will be disqualified. Submissions that are incomplete or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. If a Contestant enters multiple submissions, they will all be disqualified from consideration.

Publicity: Sponsors reserve the right to use the Submissions for publicity purposes prior to, during, or after the Contest end date, in any media, and to use the Contestant’s name, likeness, and city name and all or part of Contestant’s Submission throughout the world, in perpetuity, without any compensation or prior review, unless specifically prohibited by law.

Taxes: It is the sole responsibility of the winning Contestant to pay all federal, state, and local taxes in connection with the prize.

Limitation of Liability: Contestant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sponsors from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and legal fees, which result from the Contestant’s Submission.

Waiver of Jury: As a condition of participating in this Contest, each Contestant hereby irrevocably and perpetually waives any right that Contestant may have to a trial by jury in respect of any litigation directly or indirectly arising out of, under, or in connection with Contest, any document or agreement entered into in connection with Contest, any prize available through Contest, and any of the transactions contemplated related to Contest.

Termination of Contest: Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug, computer problem, unauthorized intervention, or other causes beyond Sponsors’ control, corrupt the administration, security, or integrity of the Contest.
